Community Engagement Services are designed to support individuals with developmental disabilities in actively participating in their communities through meaningful, inclusive experiences. These services emphasize building natural supports, developing social and communication skills, and enhancing community living competencies in integrated, non-facility-based settings. Activities may include volunteering, attending local events, shopping, dining out, visiting parks or libraries, and engaging in civic or cultural activities that reflect the individual’s interests and personal goals. The primary goal is to promote independence, foster relationships, and encourage full citizenship by connecting individuals to the broader community. Trained staff provide support, coaching, and supervision as needed to ensure safety and success in each setting, while helping participants develop confidence and a sense of belonging in their community.
