In many situations, living in a caring, nurturing environment and home-based setting as active members of a family can make all the difference for a developmentally disabled adult.
Guided Care Services, LLC's Sponsored Residential program carefully does an extensive background research in accordance with state licensing regulations and matches individuals having developmental disabilities with compassionate, patient, and caring Direct Support Sponsor Providers who offer individualized person-centered support to the individuals residing in sponsored homes.
Guided Care Services, LLC hires and provides in-depth training to committed individuals and couples who wish to open their homes and become Direct Support Sponsored Providers. Potential sponsor candidates must have a year of experience working with the developmental disability population. Our experienced Sponsor coordinators are there to assist our sponsors throughout the process with training, supervision, and case management of the individual receiving services.
Potential sponsor's are required to complete initially an Orientation training upon hire, Medication Administration 32-hour course (annually thereafter), First-aid/CPR (every two years thereafter), and Person-Centered 2-day course. Potential sponsors will be required to complete an onboarding Physical and PPD, submit auto and home insurance documents, submit an up to date copy of their driving record, financial resources and a budget to match, and reference checks.
The process to becoming a sponsored residential provider is thorough and ensures that everyone involved is safe and suited for the living situation and environment. This involves an extensive background check and fingerprinting of all occupants of the sponsor’s home 18 years and older.
